Janice Sweetwater attended The Chicago Art Institute, studying painting and sculpture.

It was at The Institute where she was inspired to paint in oils and acrylics.

Being primarily a landscape artist she frequently explores New England looking for Mother Nature's best work to transpose and interpret, sketching and photographing on location and then returning to her studio to put brush to canvas.

Sweetwater recognized her passion for art early in high school and with encouragement from her art teachers and artistic family, she began to transform her surroundings into landscapes of Color as Light.

Sweetwater is constantly evolving and changing, and experimenting with new ideas and techniques as shown in her                        Contemporary Emerging Art.
